CNC polishing is one of our wheel refurbishment processes. This process involves machining the surface of the rims using a CNC lathe to create a smooth, reflective finish and remove any existing damage to the rim.
As part of a rim refurbishment, we use CNC polishing to repair rims with scratches, scrapes, rust or other damage. CNC polishing can remove this damage so that the rims look like new again.
The CNC polishing process works as follows:
-
Cleaning: First, the rims are thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, grease and other contaminants. This is an important step to ensure that the surface of the rim is clean and free of impurities before it is machined.
-
Preparation: After the rims are cleaned, they are mounted and aligned on the CNC lathe to ensure that they are in the correct position and that the desired areas of the rim are machined.
-
Turning: CNC buffing is a precise process where a rotating cutting blade machines the surface of the rim to create the desired finish. The cutting blade moves along the surface of the rim, removing small layers of material to create a smooth, reflective finish and remove any existing damage to the rim.
